Quote Reference: 100242/08 “ Single Room Pack less than 22 m2 ”
Dear X,
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to quote for the underfloor heating system for your project. Our system is very simple and easy to understand, and we have made sure that we use the best quality pipe on the market – this is the multilayer pipe made of RiX/AL/RiX. The pipe is
100 % oxygen diffusion tight, therefore offers total protection against oxygen entering the heating system. . The pipe is approved for 10 bar pressure and 95 degree C temperature – one of the highest settings available. Your system will never need the above settings, but it indicates the strength of the pipe.
Our instructions will explain all the technical issues – this goes out with each order and is also available to download for free from our website. We offer free unlimited technical backup.
Our estimate is based on the information made available to us. For more technical and product information please visit our website www.underfloorheatingsystems.co.uk . You can also download the full Single Room Pack Instructions from;

We look forward to hear from you in the near future and in the meantime we wish you all the best with your project.
Yours sincerely,

QUOTATION FOR UNDERFLOOR HEATING SYSTEM
Project: “Single Room Pack less than 22 m2”
Reference: 100242/08 Date: 06/11/2008
Areas to Be Heated:
Complete Project: Approximate 22 m2 – Please check that floor area is correct
Note that the quote is based on the above floor area(s). If you require less or more area(s) to be heated please get in contact with us, so we can give you a re-quote. Please also check that the area is correct especially if the drawings were faxed/emailed to us and no measurements were provided.
Control Unit Position(s):
Complete Project: Located centrally
Floor Construction(s):
Complete Project: Concrete Floor
Installation Price (optional): £ 200.00 (This would be completed by one of our partner companies No VAT payable for installation)
Installation price includes: laying the pipe to the insulation, mounting the control unit and filling the system. Also included is a pressure test of the ufh system. It does not include any electrical work or any connections outside the control unit. Polyurethane insulation (e.g. Kingspan, Celotex etc) needs to be laid and units such as kitchen units must be marked up before our installation team arrives.
Notes:
1) This system does not need a manifold. The control unit needs to have flow and return from the main radiator circuit. We highly recommend that you feed 22 mm pipework to the control unit and then reduce to 15 mm as you connect to the control unit. The control unit includes 6 m Grundfos pump, Highflow mixing valve, pipe thermostat all mounted on a bracket.
2) Please see our website for full technical instructions that you can download: http://www.underfloorheatingsystems.co.uk/underfloor_heating_tech_downloads.php Click on ‘Single Room Pack Instructions’.
3) Also note, that the control unit will only work when the boiler is running, it does not have independent control to operate the boiler. If you want independent control from the boiler then we recommend that you fit a two port zone valve controlled by a timer. Concrete floors normally will need 45 degree C water flow temperature and timber suspended floors will need 55 degree C water flow temperature.
Boiler Capacity and Specification
Recommended Boiler Capacity for the underfloor heating is 2 kW or 7,000 BTU/hr.
Maximum heat output for underfloor heating systems are 100 W/m2 for concrete floors and 70 W/m2 for timber suspended floors. For any underfloor heating system to work efficiently the property needs to be built to current building regulations. Carpet and underlay should not exceed 2.5 Tog.
Condensing boilers are very efficient with underfloor heating. For combination boilers you must check with the manufacturer if the boiler can be fitted with a secondary pump.
Underfloor heating systems can be mixed with conventional radiator systems.
Advise on Insulation and Floor Constructions
We recommend a minimum of 50 mm Polyurethane insulation for the underfloor heating system. This is very high quality insulation and can be used for both concrete and timber suspended floor constructions.
Note, we do not supply the insulation. Any builder’s merchant will have e.g. Kingspan or Celotex insulation in stock, or go to www.buildingsuppliesrus.co.uk for supply of the insulation. The quote is based on clipping the pipe direct to the insulation board. We do supply pipe clips. We recommend a minimum of 65 mm screed on top of the insulation for concrete floors, for timber suspended floors see website. We do not recommend floorboards thicker than 25 mm (floor covering + underlay), see website link under technical for more information about floorboards. Always check with the manufacturers of any floor finish that it will work with underfloor heating.
Moisture Contents in the Screed and Floorboards
The screed must be allowed to dry for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks before the heating is operated. As the system is used for the first time, the mixing valve must be set to minimum setting to let the moisture in the screed to dry out. The temperature should be increased by two degrees every day until the mixing valve is set at 45°C. Floorboards must have moisture content lower than 7 % before they are installed.
Heating in WC and Bathrooms
As these areas are very small, extra heat might be needed. Therefore it is standard practice to install towel rails in these areas, combined with the underfloor heating.

For any technical queries please do not hesitate to contact our technical department,
Pump and mixing valve included
Our system comes with a circulating pump and a thermostatic mixing valve. We do not recommend that you control the underfloor heating system with only an injection valve without pump, as it will not work correctly.
